Télébec has just concluded a major agreement with Persona enabling it to use this cable company’s network to provide its Magdalen Islands customers with high-speed Internet service.
Among other benefits of this agreement, our customers will enjoy a rate reduction with the cost of their high-speed package dropping to $49.95 from $54.95. They will also be able to access our Customer Care service 24/7. Projects for providing high-speed access to other populations of the Islands are currently under consideration.
Magdalen Islands customers will now be served by a company recognized and specialized in providing integrated telecommunications services and Télébec will now be able to make substantial improvements to its network over the next few months to provide its customers with maximum performance.
“This agreement with Persona, a beautiful partnership model for providing integrated telecommunications services in non-metropolitan areas, meets the growing demand for High-Speed Internet service and helps us tangibly improve our customers’ satisfaction,” says Isabelle Courville, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Northern Telephone – Télébec group.
Thanks to this initiative, Télébec now has 269 High-Speed Internet customers. The agreement also provides that Télébec will also take over dial-up service for Persona’s customers who use this method of access. These customers will join the 1,025 customers currently served by Télébec. It is anticipated that, over the next five years, 25% of customers will be using high-speed access, that is 600 of the 2,400 Internet customers, compared to 15% today.
