Télébec is proud to launch the first Télébec Zone Wouèbe at Arthabaska Community Centre.
A room at the Centre is now equipped with eight ultra modern computers, fully loaded with Télébec High Speed Internet access and the most widely used software, including Word, Excel, Photoshop and more.
The mission of the Télébec Zone Wouèbe is to give the citizens of Victoriaville and environs an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the many subtleties of computing and the ever more advanced technologies that make the Internet the indispensable medium that it has become.
In addition, establishing the Télébec Zone Wouèbe will enable the Arthabaska Community Centre to dispense computer training that is affordable, and at the same time develop a new revenue source. Professional instructors have been hired to meet the demand.
According to the Centre’s executive director, Sarah Bureau, computer classes are clearly the in-thing these days, since more than seventy-five people have already registered.
For Télébec, the energy and enthusiasm of the Arthabaska Community Centre’s management, its geographical location, and its community participation, reflected in the 1000 people who visit it each week, made it the natural choice for the development of this important project.
The launch of the Télébec Zone Wouèbe is in line with Télébec’s philosophy of concrete involvement in the regions that it serves. In 2006, Télébec will invest nearly $60,000 in donations and sponsorships in the Victoriaville area.
